The Russian Love Letter

The Russian Love Letter is my first large-scale mural, combining figurative painting with handwritten text to create an intimate visual narrative at an architectural scale. The mural features a figurative image of a woman with the handwritten words of a love letter emerging from her, creating the impression that she is speaking directly to someone through the written word.

The composition was translated from its original scale into a monumental mural and painted entirely by hand, using only a yardstick as a guide. This process preserves the expressive quality of the original artwork while transforming it into a large-scale piece that interacts directly with the architecture and surrounding space.

Blending figurative art, handwritten text, storytelling, and large-scale mural painting, The Russian Love Letter explores the relationship between image and language, transforming a deeply personal gesture—the writing of a love letter—into an immersive work of contemporary public art.
