Lucite Piano

Created for Mike Burnett Custom, Lucite Piano transforms a functional musical instrument into a one-of-a-kind work of contemporary art. The custom lucite piano features fluid, hand-drawn line work inspired by the movement, rhythm, and visual language of musical notation.

The transparent lucite surface creates an ever-changing relationship between the artwork and its surroundings. As light moves through the piano, reflections and shadows interact with the painted lines, producing shifting compositions that change throughout the day and from different viewpoints.

Blending custom furniture, contemporary art, musical design, and experimental line work, Lucite Piano explores the connection between music and visual expression while demonstrating how artwork can transform an everyday object into a sculptural centerpiece.
