Diega

Commissioned by Jules Wilson Interior Design, Diega is a large-scale, site-specific art installation created for the lobby of Diega in downtown San Diego. The artwork was painted entirely freehand directly onto six 30-foot plaster columns, transforming the existing architectural surfaces into one continuous work of art.

Rather than treating the columns as separate elements, the installation connects them through a flowing composition that responds directly to the architecture and scale of the space. Painting directly onto the plaster allows the artwork to become an integral part of the building, creating an immersive visual experience as visitors move through the lobby.

Blending large-scale mural painting, contemporary art, interior design, and architecture, Diega demonstrates how site-specific artwork can transform an interior environment while creating a distinctive visual identity for a space in the heart of downtown San Diego.
